About

me

Welcome.

I am so excited to be taking this journey and I hope you will join me along the path.  If you know others who might like to grab hands and come along please invite them too.  The more the merrier in my book.  One can never have enough friends!

So ABOUT…. me I guess first.  Then as we go, I hope to learn about you too.

I am a free spirit trapped in a practical world.  I feel like a twenty-something trapped in a menopausal fifty year old body.  I dream during the day even while I am awake!  I live, laugh, love and feel big.  There is nothing I can’t face on my journey because I have the support of a devoted and loving husband, fiercely loyal friends and God and His legion of angels with me.  As I have just learned from some hypnosis, I am freeing my GYPSY SOUL!  Don’t you just love that.

This blog is the beginning, I pray, of something bigger in the future.  Nothing happens without taking a step.  Here is step one.

God never promised me or any of us an easy life. My first husband was a functioning alcoholic .One of my children suffers from complex PTSD, mental illness and addiction.  I am now in a new marriage which also comes with another set of complications. Choosing to see the good, letting go of the things I cannot change, making sure I am taking care of myself and nurturing the relationships that are healthy are why I am committed to this writing. I believe it takes a village some days so please know you have a friend here. And I  would love to know you!!

In the last six years  I have found a stronger faith, a more forgiving spirit and have learned to appreciate so much more and be happy for so much less!  These posts are a way to share inspiration, hope, faith, healing, strength, art and reflection.  We all come to the same or similar places along the journey arriving at each place under different sets of circumstances.  How amazing is that!  That is the human condition.  That is what makes us all brothers and sisters on this divine journey.  It give me chill bumps to think about how connected each of us to one another and we don’t even know each other.

So lets together create a really amazing community of friends who lift each other up, support each other in our care-giving struggles, laugh, cry and learn to live in our world of practical insanity!

prac·ti·cal
/ˈpraktək(ə)l/
adjective
adjective: practical
  1. 1.
of or concerned with the actual doing or use of something rather than with theory and ideas.
“there are two obvious practical applications of the research”
Similar: empirical hands-on pragmatic real actual active applied experiential experimental

nontheoretical in the field how-to heuristic empiric

    Origin
late 16th century: from archaic practic ‘practical’ (from Old French practique, via late Latin from Greek praktikos ‘concerned with action’, from prattein ‘do, act’)
Insanity. n. mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, cannot conduct her/his affairs due to psychosis, or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior.
I want to share that mental illness is nothing to laugh about.  Humor is healthy and we need it even in our trials.  I find I have to find practical ways to show up every day as the best version of me.  Since I love my daughter and want to support her, I find I get pulled into her world.  Learning tools to keep me grounded, healthy, grateful and vital are part of my self-care.
